In addition to this abundant gift from the trees we also harvested enough boysenberries to supply our smoothies all winter and enough tomatoes to enjoy well into November. We also had a great crop of snow peas and pickling cucumbers. Our peppers were not happy though.

Gertrude took the year off when it comes to peach plums and instead focused on giving us prune plums

47 pounds of Prune Plums made a lot of wonderful plum spread in addition to eating them fresh off the tree.

77 pounds of Grapes were turned into canned juice and dried raisins, in addition to eating them fresh off the vine.

49 pounds of Pears were preserved into compote and super sweet pear juice after eating many fresh off the tree.

340 figs made it into our freezer even after we enjoyed many more warm and fresh off the trees for about two weeks.

145 pounds of apples from a neighbourhood tree we’ve adopted. The half that had worm damage made 12 batches of dried apple.

145 pounds also filled three crispers in our fridges and this wonderful basket. Next year our own apple trees should start to bear fruit.

And finally, enough boysenberries to keep us in high antioxidant smoothies all year long. Next year there will be even more.
