For months we would ride by this scraggly apple tree and wonder how it got to grow on the side of a bike trail. Then last fall, to our delight, it produced some wonderful apples. So we decided to take it under our wings and love it up. Today I gave it a good pruning to prepare it for the next growing season. It was ecstatic.
Of course we cleaned up after ourselves and chipped all the branches we pruned off.
